Today I ventured through a large wooden door, down a dimly lit staircase to a Parisian haven of culture and food that was to die for. The venue is spectacular, the staff were all delightful and the food was the best French food I’ve had in … More

Their happy hour Duck Parfait and Normandy Burger is simply delicious.
The burger is sooo juicy, fat, and filling and paired with a rich sauce. Might be one of the best burgers I ever tasted. Please don’t stop making them, I’d eat … More

Amazingly cosy French restaurant hidden behind a wooden door and down a set of stairs. Live jazz music, a great bar and top-notch food in a candle-lit environment makes this the perfect place for cosy, romantic drinks or meals. More

An absolutely beautiful night with some of the best food we’ve had in Sydney (and we visit a lot of restaurants). The kingfish was the most surprising dish, I wasn’t expecting it to be that good! There was nothing to fault with the whole night, even with a slip on with our order, they handled it so well. Will 100% be back for more! More

I’d been looking forward to this jazz bar restaurant for months after seeing it raved about on YouTube – it was on my must-visit list for the entire Sydney trip, and I saved it for our very last night. … More

Daringly walked in on Valentine’s Day with my sister who’s visiting from overseas. We were seated by the bar and honestly, we were very glad that we did. You could still see the stage with the jazz playing, and it felt lively without being overwhelming.
Philip, the bartender was fantastic in looking after us, especially as we weren’t really checked in or asked much by the section waiter. At times it felt like we were a little overlooked, but Philip made sure we weren’t. He was attentive and just genuinely great at what he does (business should be glad to have such a team player!!!)
Food was amazing. The kingfish had the right balance of texture from the cured fish, cloud mushroom and rice puff — fresh and well thought through. The sirloin steak was cooked to perfection. And the mushroom au poivre sauce was creamy and indulgent — we ended up adding fries just to keep the sauce (could literally lick the plate).
Overall, it was a great dining experience thanks to Philip and the chefs. Worth a visit if you’re in Sydney!

We had an amazing experience at Restaurant Hubert! We tried the duck parfait which came with complimentary bread. It was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly, probably one of the best we’ve ever had, and the lamb cutlets were tender and full of flavour. We also loved the beef tartare, so flavoursome. The escargots were a bit mid compared to the other dishes, but everything else more than made up for it. The service was warm and attentive, and the staff were attentive and made us feel welcome. The live jazz music added such a great atmosphere to the night. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience! Easily one of my fave restos in Sydney now

Hubert is easily one of my favourite spots from my Sydney trip. From start to finish, the service, ambience, and vibe were just surreal — something you don’t often get in Melbourne. We had a tight schedule and needed to finish within an hour, and the team went above and beyond to accommodate us, which I really appreciated.
The food was exceptional:
• Steak (130g Wagyu) – cooked perfectly with a great balance of fat, exactly how I wanted it.
• Layered potatoes – fantastic pairing with the sake; really enjoyed the textures.
• XO escargot – blew me away, I was literally licking the sauce off the plate; the Asian-fusion flavours were incredible.
• Roe boat – solid, enjoyable but not a must-have.
• Duck parfait bread – complimentary bread was outstanding, perfectly soft and fresh.
Overall, Hubert nailed the balance of creative dishes and perfectly executed proteins. Steak alone is a benchmark, but the other dishes really elevated the whole meal — far beyond what I usually experience in Melbourne. Highly recommend.

Went for Christmas Eve dinner and loved it. Waiter was very helpful with recommendations and explaining certain dishes.
The duck parfait was exceptional, although I think one between two people is the play as it is a generous portion. The Beef Bourguignon was the best I've ever had - extremely generous portion size and the meat was so tender, would 100% recommend this dish. The Pommes Anna side dish is also incredible - the buttery caramel sauce that it is served in was so good. Dessert wise I got the Chocolate Mousse Tart and it didn't disappoint, pretty indulgent but served with a lovely creme fraiche ice cream that cuts through the heaviness of the chocolate.
And if course, the live jazz was great, very good atmosphere and skilled musicians who give a bit of interaction too.
Overall loved my experience - it is pricey so more of a special occasion place but would definitely recommend.

What a fabulous French Bistro downtown Sydney. I walked in for lunch and all the dishes blew my mind !
The vibe is sexy romantic with a French flair. I recommend ordering the whole duck, the 400 grams steak, and the lamb. The proteins were cooked perfectly and the sauces elevated the tastes. The price was reasonable and we would love to come back again.
Cheers to this amazing French Restaurant!

Delicious, well-seasoned food with good quality and reasonable portions, though a bit on the pricey side. Service was excellent - attentive and confident.

Thoroughly enjoyed eating here. The duck was the best I’ve had,
moist and juicy. The pate and the roe boat (salmon roe, caviar, and uni) were fresh, sweet, and delicious although on the pricey side. Cocktails and sparkling wine were excellent. Service was superb and the ambience was top-notch with live jazz music. Escargot was just okay for the price (not the best I’ve had) but overall a great experience!
